Dr. Adys Mendizabal“Adys Mendizabal, MD, MA is a first-year movement disorders fellow in the department of neurology at UCLA. She completed her neurology residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and graduated medical school from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia. While in medical school she also completed a Masters in Urban Bioethics, program that focused in addressing the impact of social determinants of health in Black and Latino communities. Her thesis titled “Racial concordance, autonomy, and justice: evidence for the ethical need of diversity in medicine” explored contemporary and historical reasons for mistrust in healthcare among communities of color, and listed potential interventions to increase diversity in the field, improve trust, and ultimately improve healthcare outcomes in underserved communities. To highlight the importance of representation of communities of color in clinical trials, she was a participant in the Moderna Covid 19 Vaccine trial.”

Dr. Santano Rosario“Santano Rosario is an Emergency Medicine Physician at UCLA. He has worked in healthcare policy on the federal, state, and local levels. He currently holds the resident seat for the California Medical Association Political Action Committee.
Santano received his MD from the Keck School of Medicine of USC where he spent a year as a Dean's Research Scholar. Santano received his BA from Rice University where he also ran track." |
